A bright top to cut through all the clouds!

Ann Taylor "Chevron Wave" top, Size Small, ($40.60 with the 30% discount from original $58)
Ann Taylor khaki shorts, Size 4 (Summer 2012)

I am ready to “celebrate America’s birthday,” as my daughter has been saying all week.  Today will be a short day at work, with us leaving early to head down to the beach, so I’m taking advantage of summer casual with my khaki, knee length Ann Taylor shorts in a Size 4 (Summer 2012) and bright Ann Taylor Chevron Wave top, Size Small, which can be found here.  I love this top, first of all the colors are so pretty and bright, but not obnoxiously bright and the fabric is so light and soft, perfect for the humidity that plagues Richmond during the summer!  I also love the little slits and ties on the cuffs of the sleeves.  It makes the top even more fun.  The top is listed for $58, with 30% off right now ($40.60, which is what I paid for it).

I accessorized my outfit with a bright yellow skinny patent leather belt (Ann Taylor Factory Store 2012), a long gold disc necklace, which can be found here on Etsy for $38, a pair of gold and yellow glass ball earrings and a neutral T-strap wedge “Maureen” by Born B.O.C.  I found the shoes on sale at my local DSW store.  I wear this necklace frequently and mine is shorter than when I first received it because my little man gets tangled in it and breaks it often.  I finally started tucking the necklace under my top when I’m getting him ready in the morning and dropping him off at daycare and that has saved it from becoming a choker, and from my little guy choking me!
