Good morning!  I hope everyone had a great 4^th of July!  We spent the holiday in the Outer Banks, NC on a little mini vacation, before our week long vacation over Labor Day.  We stayed in a hotel on the beach and the kids had a great time playing in the sand and surf.  I must say that in hind sight, having all of us stay in one room wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had.  Trying to put a 17-month-old to bed with a hyper 3-year-old running around and all of the lights on was challenging to say the least, but we made it work, with a few late nights for the little guy.  At any rate, I’m happy to be sitting down at my desk today “recuperating” from chasing the kids around on our trip!

I had some time before we headed down to the beach (and an Ann Taylor gift card was burning a hole in my pocket), so I decided to hit the store last week to see if there was anything new on sale.  I’m so glad I stopped by, because I found this great striped skirt, among other things.  The Tall Dobby Stripe Skirt is also on line and currently listed for $59.88 with an additional 40% off ($35.93).  I was so excited to find this skirt, because I happened to have this super bright orange top from LOFT that I bought in 2012 and I thought it would match perfectly.   I didn’t realize just how bright the top was until I saw this picture, though!  I also have a yellow Ann Taylor top from last summer that I think will work great with this.  I am usually a size 4 with skirts from Ann Taylor, but they didn’t have a 4 and the sales associate encouraged me to try the 2, which ended up fitting, so the skirt runs a little big.  It is definitely a little more snug than what I usually wear, but doesn’t feel tight.  I’ll just have to eat light today to make sure it stays that way!  I accessorized the outfit with a pair of Nine West heels in beige and orange, a simple gold necklace and orange earrings and bright orange bracelet that I found on sale at Piperlime.com this season.
